Meaning of parameter in different critical situations is discussed. Pictured role of parameter for diagnostics of such syndrome as D-lactacidosis.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Небольшой обзор, включающий краткую историческую справку по истории анализа газового состава крови, посвящен такому расчетному параметру, как анионный промежуток. Обсуждается клиническая значимость параметра при различных патологических состояниях.
