This study aimed to analyze the structural changes in providing emergency surgical care to children during the COVID-19 pandemic.</p> <p><bold><italic>AIM</italic></bold><italic>:</italic> The purpose of this work was to analyze.</p> <p><bold><italic>MATERIALS AND METHODS</italic></bold><italic>:</italic> We compared the number of people seeking emergency surgical care in the emergency department during the period of strict coronavirus restrictions to the same period the previous year (2019) and the number of patients hospitalized for emergency surgical treatment.</p> <p><bold><italic>RESULTS</italic></bold><italic>:</italic> Compared with the pre-COVID period, the number of visits from children with suspected acute surgical pathology (acute appendicitis, purulent-inflammatory diseases of soft tissues, and injuries of the abdomen and chest) decreased by more than twofold (from 527 to 241 patients, <italic>p</italic> &lt; 0.01). A similar trend was observed with hospitalizations, which significantly decreased from 139 to 66 children (<italic>p</italic> &lt; 0.01).</p> <p><bold><italic>CONCLUSIONS</italic></bold><italic>: </italic>The data revealed referral and hospitalization characteristics of children with acute surgical pathology. Thus, the new coronavirus pandemic has significantly impacted the delivery of emergency surgical care to children.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p><bold>Актуальность</bold>. Пандемия новой коронавирусной инфекции оказала влияние на многие сферы нашей жизни.</p> <p><bold>Цель</bold> — анализ структурных изменений в оказании неотложной хирургической помощи детям во время пандемии COVID-19.</p> <p><bold>Материалы и методы</bold>. Нами проведен сравнительный анализ обращаемости за неотложной хирургической помощью в приемное отделение краевой больницы в период жестких коронавирусных ограничений по сравнению с аналогичным периодом предыдущего (2019) года, а также количество госпитализаций в стационар пациентов, нуждающихся в хирургическом лечении по экстренным показаниям.</p> <p><bold>Результаты</bold>. Количество обращений детей с подозрением на острую хирургическую патологию (острый аппендицит, гнойно-воспалительные заболевания мягких тканей, травмы живота и грудной клетки) достоверно снизилось более чем в 2 раза по сравнению с доковидным периодом (с 527 до 241 пациентов, <italic>p</italic> &lt; 0,01). Аналогичная тенденция прослеживалась и в отношении госпитализаций в стационар, которые достоверно сократились со 139 до 66 детей (<italic>p</italic> &lt; 0,01).</p> <p><bold>Выводы</bold>. Таким образом, пандемия новой коронавирусной инфекции COVID-19 значительно повлияла на оказание помощи детям.
